Step 1: Basecoat skin with Soft Brown. Basecoat blond hair with Butter Cream. Antique with Soft Brown Translucent. Blush skin with chalk.
Step 2: Basecoat light parts of clothing with
Cream. Shade creases, folds, edges with a wash of Soft Brown. Basecoat "pink" areas of clothing with Petal Pink; shade with a Rose wash. Basecoat "light brown" areas of clothing with Deep
Beige; shade with washes of Medium Brown and very lightly with a Real Brown wash in deepest fold and edges.
Step 3: Wet-brush blonde hair with Butter Cream. Basecoat dark hair with Toast. Apply a wash
of Real Brown over the Toast. Let dry, then wet-brush hair with Toast and highlight with Toast lightened with Mustard.
Step 4: Basecoat blue clothing with Powder Blue; shade with a Country Blue wash.
Step 5: Basecoat wings with Premier Gold. Wet-brush with Cream. Highlight edges of feathers with White. Shade between wing sections with a Rose wash.
Step 6: Basecoat rocks with Dark
Grey. Wet-brush them with Light Grey. Shade and tint them with washes of Rose, Toast and Country Blue. Wet-brush over rock edges again with Cream to highlight.
** Jesus Fountain DH1857- Basecoat
Jesus' wrap with Leather Brown; highlight lightly with Toast. Shade folds with a Black wash. Basecoat plants and trees Black. Wet-brush with Grass Green. Add Mustard to same brush and highlight. Tint
some of the trees and plants with a wash of Toast. Shade recessed areas with a Black wash. (Note: inside of fountain bowl is glazed with Gloss Black Glaze). Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
** The
Annunciation DH1544 - Flowers are painted with Powder Blue and shaded with Midnight Blue. Leaves are painted with Willow Green and shaded with Grass Green and Shadow Green.
DH1836 - Angel with Lion and the Lamb

Step 1: Finish skin, hair, gown, and wings as described for other figures.
Step 2: Basecoat lion with Toast. Basecoat lamb with Cream. Basecoat all ground cover with Black.
Step 3: Antique lamb with Soft Brown translucent. Wet-brush lamb with Cream; highlight
with White. Shade around face, ears, hooves, etc. with a wash of Medium Brown.
Step 4: Wet-brush lion with Mustard; highlight lightly with Flaxon Yellow. Wet-brush Cream markings on face. Shade fur with
washes of Toast, Real Brown, and Black, making the mane darker than the body. Paint nose Leather Brown.
Step 5: Wet-brush grass and leaves with Real Brown. Wet-brush again with Grass Green; add
Mustard to same brush and highlight leaves. Highlight further with Flaxon Yellow. Shade and tint grass and leaves with washes of Toast, Shadow Green and Black. Use a liner with Black, as necessary, to detail
leaves.
Step 6: Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

Step 1: Basecoat skin with Soft Brown. Basecoat girl's shirt Cream. Basecoat hair with Butter Cream. Antique skin, shirt and hair with Soft Brown Translucent.
Basecoat rock Light Grey. Basecoat all greenery with Shadow Green. Basecoat fence Real Brown.
Step 2: Paint eyes of girl and angel with Country Blue iris', Black pupils and lashes. Paint lips Rose;
tint with a thin wash of Cranberry. Paint eyebrows with Medium Brown.
Step 3: Shade and tint rocks with washes of Toast, Country Blue and Leather Brown. Lightly wet-brush rocks with Cream.
Step 4:
Wet-brush leaves with Leaf Green. Highlight with Daffodil. Shade the leaves with a wash of Shadow Green. Use a liner where necessary to define detail.
Step 5: Paint flowers White, shade around centers with a Rose wash, followed by a Cranberry wash. Paint center Daffodil.
Step 6: Basecoat girl's dress with Rose. Shade with a wash of Cranberry. Paint belt and buttons Cranberry.
Step 7: Wet-brush fence with Toast. Add Country Blue to same brush and
highlight fence edges; add Cream and Mustard. Shade grass with thin washes of Toast, Shadow Green and Black.
Step 8: Basecoat angel's dress Petal Pink. Shade folds with a wash of Rose. Wet-brush back over
dress with Petal Pink. Add a little White to same brush and wet-brush highlights on folds. Paint wrap and wings Premier Gold.
Step 9: Wet-brush wings with White. Shade between wing sections with Rose wash. Highlight edges of feathers with White.
Step 10: Blush skin with chalk.
Step 11: Spray with Matte Spray Sealer, followed by Porcelain Spray Sealer.
DH1795 - Madonna and DH1796 - Base MATERIALS NEEDED: Sponge, Mask-It (SP02), Clear Glaze (Ceramichrome), Fired-on Gold

Step 1: Clean greenware and fire to 03.
Step 2: Basecoat Mary's gown with three good coats of Cobalt Blue Glaze.
Step 3: Sponge Mask-It on Mary's shawl and veil and on base and let dry.
Step 4: Clear glaze entire piece (except hair and skin) with two good coats. Fire piece to cone 05.
Step 5: Paint
mother of pearl luster on glazed areas, except where you want the fired on gold. Put fired on gold on the belt and band of dress. Fire to cone 018.
Step 6: Basecoat skin with two good coats of Soft Brown and
hair with Medium Brown. Antique with Soft Brown and wipe off with a soft cloth. (Use P400 brush cleaner if antiquing gets on glazed areas.)
Step 7: Wet-brush hair with Flaxon Yellow and shade with Real Brown.
Step 8: Paint eyes with Real Brown, iris with Country Blue, and pupils Black. Put a wash of Leather Brown on lips.
Step 9: Chalk cheeks with russet chalk.

Brown. Paint boys hair with Flaxon Yellow and wet-brush with Cream and shade with Daffodil. Paint girls hair Black.
Step 3: Basecoat Jesus' gown with Cream and wet-brush with White. Basecoat robe with True
Red and wet-brush with True Orange, then shade with Leather Brown. Basecoat boys and girls gowns with Soft Brown and shade with Medium Brown.
Step 4: Paint eyes with Real Brown and wash of Toast.
Paint pupils Black. Paint a wash of Leather Brown on lips. Chalk cheeks with russet chalk.
Step 5: Basecoat rock Black and wet-brush with Dark Grey. Paint rocks with washes of Toast, Country
Blue and Mustard. Wetbrush rocks with Cream. Basecoat grass with Grass Green and highlight with Mustard. Shade grass with Black.

Brown Antiquing Translucent and wipe off with a soft cloth. Paint Jesus' hair with Real Brown and wet-brush then Toast, then highlight with Mustard. Basecoat Jesus' gown with Leather Brown and highlight with True
Red. Basecoat Jesus' robe with Midnight Blue and highlight with Country Blue.
Step 3: Paint Jesus' eyes with Real Brown and wash with Toast. Paint a wash of Leather Brown on lips. Chalk cheeks with russet chalk.
Step 4: Wet-brush lambs fur with Cream and highlight with
White. Wetbrush face and legs with Medium Brown. Paint eyes Black and nose Rose.
Step 5: Paint rocks Black and wet-brush with Dark Grey. Apply washes of Toast, Mustard and Country Blue to
rocks. Wet-brush rocks Cream and shade with Black.
Step 6: Paint bushes with Grass Green and highlight with Mustard.
Step 7: Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

Plaque, DH1846 - The Decent Plaque, DH1847 - The Crucifixion Plaque MATERIALS NEEDED: Krackle Glaze, Ultra Fine Gold, Black Translucent (AT01)
Step 1: Clean and fire greenware to cone 06.
Step 2: Apply three coats of Krackle Glaze to plates and fire to cone 06.
Step 3: Apply one coat of Ultra Fine Gold to areas (refer to photo) and fire to cone 018.
Step 4: Apply Black Translucent on plates and wipe off with a soft cloth.
