DH- 1863 - DRIFTWOOD BARN OWL MATERIALS NEEDED:
Greenware, Various Brushes, Matte Spray Sealer. DOC HOLLIDAY COLORS: DH-08 Black, DH-09 Real Brown, DH-25 Toast, DH-10 Mustard, DH-12 Leather Brown, DH-37 Cream, DH-21 Sand.
- Step 1: Basecoat entire piece Black.
- Step 2: Wet-brush entire piece with Real Brown. With color still in your brush, add Toast and wet-brush owl (except face). Lighten Toast slightly with Mustard (using same brush) and highlight
feathers. Wet-brush face heavily and wing edges (very lightly) with Cream. Shade around eyes with a Toast wash, followed with a Black wash. Shade between wing sections with a Black wash. Line between
major feathers and paint small markings on feathers with Black. Paint eyes Black.
- Step 3: Wet-brush wood with Toast, Sand, and Cream as desired to blend-in with owl. Shade wood with washes of Toast, Leather Brown and Black.
- Step 4: Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

- Step 1: Basecoat skin with Dark Flesh. Antique with Red-Brown Translucent. Paint lips with a thin wash of Leather Brown. Paint eyes with Medium Brown (shaded with Real Brown) iris', Black pupils,
lashes and eyebrows. Blush skin with chalk.
- Step 2: Basecoat dress Blue Suede. Shade creases and fringe with a Teal wash. Wet-brush fringe with Blue Suede, gradually adding Cream to lighten the ends. Apply a wash of Midnight Blue over the bead
areas. Let dry then paint bead pattern with Christmas Red, Turquoise and White. Shade upper edges of fringe with a Teal wash, followed by a Midnight Blue wash. Paint necklace and feathers to match dress
and beads.
- Step 3: Basecoat wings Premier Gold. Wet-brush them with Cream. Shade between wing sections with a wash of Blue Suede. Lighten ends of feathers slightly with White.
- Step 4: Basecoat all remaining areas Black.
- Step 5: Wet-brush rocks Light Gray. Shade and tint them with washes of Toast, Leather Brown, Blue Suede and Black. Lightly wet-brush edges of rocks with Cream to highlight and blend washes.
- Step 6: Wet-brush deer and bear with Real Brown. Add Medium Brown to same brush and wet-brush highlights on the bear's fur. Wet-brush his muzzle with Sand. Shade around his muzzle (over the Sand)
with a wash of Real Brown. Shade bear's fur with a Black wash (around muzzle, ears, feet, face).
- Step 7: Wet-bursh deer with Toast. Add Mustard to same brush and highlight fur. Paint "white" markings on deer with Cream. Shade deer's fur (inside ears, around legs, etc.) with a Black
wash. Paint eyes with Real Brown iris', Black pupils, hoves and nose.
- Step 8: Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

fringe with a Toast wash, then lightly, with a Leather Brown wash. Paint bead area Leather Brown, then paint beads with White, Turquoise and Christmas Red. Paint bear claws on brave's necklace Cream with Black
tips; paint beads Turquoise. Basecoat brave's pants and moccasins Deep Beige. Shade shem with a Real Brown wash. paint beads on moccasins. Basecoat loincloth and knife sheath Toast. Shade with a Leather
Brown wash.
- Step 4: Follow Steps 1,2, & 3 directions for eagle as in the Driftwood Eagle.
- Step 5: Follow Steps 4 & 5 directions for rocks as in Angel with Bear & Deer.

Black wash. Paint eyes with Real Brown iris', Black pupils. Shade fringe with a wash of Mauve, then Cranberry. Paint beads with Mauve. Apply a wash of Cranberry over the Mauve. Let dry.
Paint bead pattern with Mauve, White, Turquoise. Paint necklace and earrings to match dress and beads.
- Step 3: Follow Step 3 directions as for Angel with Bear & Deer; except: shade wings with a wash of Mauve.

- Step 1: Glaze bowl and inside of fountain with Black Gloss Glaze.
- Step 2: Basecoat entire fountain with Black.
- Step 3: Wet-brush all rocks and wolf with Light Gray.
- Step 4: Shade and tint the wolf's fur with washes of Medium Brown, Dark Gray and Black. Highlight fur with Cream around face, ears and legs. Paint inside mouth Leather Brown, nose Black.
- Step 5: Tint and shade rocks with washes of Toast, Leather Brown, Country Blue and Black. Wet-brush highlights on rocks with Cream.
- Step 6: Wet-brush trees with Real Brown. Highlight with Toast, Sand and Cream. Shade around trees and limbs with a Black wash. Wet-brush leaves with Grass Green; highlight with Mustard.
- Step 7: Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
- Step 8: Apply Snow-It as desired on rocks. While still wet, sprinkle with ultra-fine glitter.
DH-1867 - DRIFTWOOD EAGLES MATERIALS NEEDED: Greenware, Various Brushes, Matte Spray Sealer. DOC HOLLIDAY COLORS: DH-08 Black, DH-29 White, DH-25 Toast, DH-16 Flaxen Yellow, DH-18 Medium Brown, DH-09 Real Brown,
DH-12 Leather Brown, DH-10 Mustard, DH-37 Cream, DH-21 Sand.
- Step 1: Basecoat heads of birds White. Tint beaks with a wash of Mustard; highlight edges with Cream. Tint tongue with a wash of Leather Brown. Paint eyes Mustard. Shade around beak and eyes
with a Toast wash. Shade deepest crevices around eyes, tongue, beak with a thin Black wash. Paint pupils Black with a White highlight.
- Step 2: Basecoat all remaining areas Black.
- Step 3: Wet-brush over Black areas with Real Brown. Without cleaning brush between colors, add Medium Brown and wet-brush birds and wood lightly. Lightly wet-brush highlights on the wings with Toast, then
Leather Brown. Shade the outer edges of wing feathers and between each section with a Black wash. Line with Black between each major feather. Wet-brush feet with Mustard; highlight with Flaxen Yellow, then
shade upper foot with a Black wash. Paint claws Black.
- Step 4: Shade and tint the wood areas with washes of Leather Brown, Toast and Real Brown. Highlight wood by wet-brushing edges with Sand, followed by Cream. Shade deep crevices and shadowed areas of wood
with a Balck wash. Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
DH-1864 - DRIFTWOOD BUFFALO MATERIALS NEEDED: Greenware, Various Brushes, Matte Spray Sealer, Soft Cloth. DOC HOLLIDAY COLORS: DH-08 Black, DH-29 White, DH-37 Cream, DH-23 Bone, DH-09 Real Brown, DH-25
Toast, DH-42 Dark Gray, DH-34 Soft Brown, AT-04 Red Brown Translucent.
- Step 1: Clean greenware carefully and fire to Cone 03.
- Step 2: Basecoat buffalo's fur with Cream and hooves and nose with Soft Brown. Antique with Red Brown Translucent and wipe back with Soft Cloth. Wet-brush fur with White and paint horns with Bone.
Paint eyes with Real Brown and Black pupils.
- Step 3: Basecoat wood area with Black. Wet-brush wood, using Real Brown. Add Toast to same brush and highlight wood. Wet-brush wood again with Dark Gray and then highlight with Cream.
- Step 4: Shade around nose, horns and hooves with Real Brown. Shade driftwood with Black and spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
DH-1866 - DRIFTWOOD COUGAR MATERIALS NEEDED: Greenware, Various Brushes, Matte Spray Sealer. DOC HOLLIDAY COLORS: DH-08 Black, DH-09 Real Brown, DH-25 Toast, DH-10 Mustard, DH-37 Cream, DH-14 Rose, DH-42 Dark

- Step 1: Clean greenware carefully and fire to Cone 03. Basecoat entire piece with Black.
- Step 2: Wet-brush entire piece using Real Brown. Add Toast to same brush and wet-brush cougar again. Highlight cougar with Mustard. Wet-brush around eyes, across paw, around nose and mouth with
Cream. Paint nose Rose and eyes Mustard with Black pupils. Shade cougar with Real Brown.
- Step 3: Highlight driftwood with Toast, Dark Gray and then lightly with Cream. Shade wood with a Black wash. Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

around face, sides and legs with White. Paint noses Black. Paint eyes Toast with Black Paint tongue Christmas Red and teeth Cream.
- Step 4: Wet-brush wood area with Real Brown. Add Toast to same brush and highlight wood. Highlight further with Dark Gray and Cream. Shade wood with Black. Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

- Step 3: Basecoat skin with Dark Flesh and antique with Red Brown Translucent. Paint hair Black and areas with log, animals and rocks all Black.
- Step 4: Basecoat dress Soft Brown and wet-brush Cream over dress and shade with Toast. Basecoat wings Light Gray and wet-brush wings Cream, shade with Blue Suede. To darken wings shade with a wash of
Midnight Blue.
- Step 5: Paint beads with Midnight Blue, True Red and Turquoise. Paint eyes Real Brown and wash of Leather Brown on lips. Chalk cheeks with Russet Chalk.
- Step 6: Wet-brush all areas in Black with Real Brown. Wet-brush log with Leather Brown and highlight with Toast. Wet-brush bark with Flaxen Yellow and highlight with Cream.
- Step 7: Wet-brush raccoon with Light Gray add a wash of Real Brown then shade with Black. Paint face with Black eyes and nose. Add White to areas on face, ears and tail. Wet-brush chipmunk Real Brown
add a wash of Cream to face, back and tail. Paint black stripes on face and tail. Wet-brush rabbit Medium Brown and highlight with Soft Brown and add Cream to brush to soften fur areas. Shade with Real
Brown. Paint nose Rose. Wet-brush tree with Teal and highlight with Blue Suede and shade with Shadow Green.
- Step 8: Wet-brush rocks with Light Gray and shade with Mustard, Country Blue and Toast. Wet-brush Cream over rocks. Shade log, rocks and animals with Black.
- Step 9: Apply Mask-It on Silver and Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

Brown, boy's pants Medium Brown and loin cloth Soft Brown.
- Step 4: Wet-brush angel's dress and wings with White and shade dress with Toast. Paint beads with Midnight Blue, Turquoise, White and add True Red and Mustard for color. Shade wings with Bone.
- Step 5: Shade girls dress with Toast and shade fringe Cream then Real Brown. Paint beads with True Orange, Mustard and Turquoise.
- Step 6: Shade boys pants and cloth with Real Brown. Shade fringe with Cream. Paint head band with Real Brown, Feather Cream and shade with Leather Brown.
- Step 7: Paint wolf Light Gray add washes of Toast and Real Brown. Add wash of Black to give wolf depth in color in face, back and side. Wet-brush Cream to raised areas of fur in face and neck. Paint
eyes Mustard, pupils Black and nose Black.
- Step 8: Wet-brush rocks Light Gray paint washes of Mustard, Country Blue and Real Brown. Wet-brush Cream and shade with Black.
- Step 9: Paint eyes with Real Brown and thin wash of Leather Brown to lips. Chalk cheeks with Russett Chalk. Cover Silver with Mask-It and spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
