DH-1887 - The Battle - Knight with Dragon  Materials Needed:  Brushes:  1/2" Flat Shader, Detail, Liner, Skewer for Spear. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH-08 Black, DH-29 White, DH-19 Light Gray, DH-37 Cream, DH-03 True Orange, DH-22 Christmas Red, DH-01 Daffodil, DH-12 Leather Brown, DH-09 Real Brown, DH-40 Turquoise, DH-27 Midnight Blue, DH-23 Bone, DH-26 Lexington Green, DH-47 Silver.

  • Step 1:  Basecoat belly & ridged sides of face of dragon, saddle blanket and textured areas of harness with White.  Apply 1 coat Daffodil over the White areas.  Shade edges of these areas with a wash of True Orange.  Paint pattern on saddle blanket with True Orange.  Paint fringe and lined area of reins with Turquoise.  Apply a wash of Midnight Blue over the Turquoise.  Paint shield Bone; paint desired crest on shield.
  • Step 2:  Basecoat all remaining areas Black.
  • Step 3:  Wet-brush rocks Light Gray.  Shade and tint them with washes of True Orange, Leather Brown and Turquoise.  Wet-brush rocks lightly with Cream to highlight.
  • Step 4:  Wet-brush horses mane and tail with Black, lightened slightly with Light Gray.
  • Step 5:  Wet-brush saddle, cape lining, flumes and dragon's tongue with Leather Brown.  Wet-brush flumes and cape with True Orange; add Daffodil to same brush and wet-brush highlights on edges.  Wet-brush tongue with Christmas Red.  Paint teeth Bone.
  • Step 6:  Wet-brush knight's armor with Silver.  Wet-brush dragon with Lexington Green.  Add increasing amounts of Daffodil to same brush and wet-brush highlights on dragon's body and hair.  Paint his eyes Turquoise; shade them with a Midnight Blue wash, Black pupils.
  • Step 7:  Shade entire piece, as necessary with a Black wash.  Use a liner with Black to define detail areas as needed.  Paint Silver dots on trim of blanket.

DH-1886 - Captured Dragon  Materials Needed:  Greenware, Various Brushes, Liquid Fired Gold, White Pearl Stain (by Ceramichrome). Doc Holliday Colors:  CG-300 Clear Glaze, SP-02 Mask-It, SP-08 Matte Spray Sealer, DH-08 Black, DH-09 Real Brown, DH-12 Leather Brown, DH-25 Toast, DH-22 Christmas Red, DH-52 Cranberry, DH-23 Bone, DH-29 White, DH-19 Light Gray, DH-30 Country Blue, DH-37 Cream, DH-21 Sand, DH-40 Turquoise, FT-02 Finger-Tip Gold.

  • Step 1:  Clean greenware and fire to Cone 03.  Apply Clear Glaze to toenails, band around neck and each side of nose.  Fire to Cone 06.  Brush Liquid Gold to glazed areas and fire to Cone 018.
  • Step 2:  Basecoat entire piece with Black.  Wet-brush rocks with Light Gray.  Apply washes of Cranberry and Country Blue to rocks and then highlight with Cream.  Wet-brush White Pearl randomly on rocks.
  • Step 3:  Wet-brush tree trunk with Real Brown and then highlight with Toast.  Wet-brush smooth part of trunk with Sand and shade with Toast and Real Brown.
  • Step 4:  Wet-brush belly of dragon with Bone and shade down each side of belly with Cranberry.
  • Step 5:  Wet-brush body of dragon with Leather Brown and then with Christmas Red.  Apply a light wash of Cranberry over the dragons body.  Lighten Cranberry with a little White and highlight around face, bottom of feet and down back.
  • Step 6:  Use Finger-Tip Gold and lightly wet-brush body and bottom of wings.  Paint tongue Christmas Red and teeth Cream.  Eyes are Turquoise with Black pupils.  Shade entire piece with Black.  Apply Mask-It to all Fired-On Gold and spray with Matte Spray Sealer.  Peel off Mask-It.

DH-1890 - Dragon Smoker  Materials Needed:  Greenware, Various Brushes, Liquid Gold, Soft Cloth, Gold Brush-On Glitter. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH-08 Black, DH-23 Bone, DH-12 Leather Brown, DH-24 Terra Cotta, DH-22 Christmas Red, DH-10 Mustard, CG-300 Clear Glaze, SP-02 Mask-It, SP-07 Krackle-It, AT-05 Soft Brown Translucent, SP-08 Matte Spray Sealer.

  • Step 1:  Clean greenware and fire to Cone 03.  Apply Clear Glaze to teeth and beak and fire to Cone 06.  Brush Liquid Gold on Glaze and fire to Cone 018.
  • Step 2:  Basecoat entire piece with Black.  Apply Krackle-It to horns on top of nose and to front of neck and allow to dry.  Brush Bone over this area then antique with Soft Brown Translucent.  Wipe with a soft cloth.  Shade each side of neck with Terra Cotta.
  • Step 3:  Wet-brush rest of dragon with Leather Brown.  Add Christmas Red to same brush and wet-brush again.  Add Mustard to a little Terra Cotta and highlight dragon.
  • Step 4:  Paint tongue Christmas Red.  Paint eyes Mustard with Black pupils.  Shade entire piece with Black.  Brush Mask-It over Gold and spray with Matte Spray Sealer.  Peel off Mask-It and brush on Gold Glitter where desired.

DH-1888 - Claw/Skull Smoker  Materials Needed:  Greenware, Various Brushes, Liquid Gold, Soft Cloth, Gold Brush-On Glitter. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH-08 Black, DH-23 Bone, DH-29 White, DH-12 Leather Brown, DH-24 Terra Cotta, DH-10 Mustard, DH-25 Toast, CG-300 Clear Glaze, SP-02 Mask-It, AT-05 Soft Brown Translucent, SP-07 Krackle-It, SP-08 Matte Spray Sealer.

  • Step 1:  Clean greenware and fire to Cone 03.  Apply Clear Glaze to fingernails and fire to Cone 06.  Brush Liquid Gold onto nails and fire again to Cone 018.
  • Step 2:  Basecoat entire piece with Black.  Apply Krackle-It to skull only.  Allow to dry 30 - 40 minutes.  Brush Bone over skull being careful not to overlap.  When dry, antique with Soft Brown Translucent.  Wipe back with Soft Cloth.  Wet-brush White across teeth and shade with Toast.
  • Step 3:  Wet-brush claw with Leather Brown.  With color still in your brush, add Terra Cotta and wet-brush again.  Add Mustard to same brush and highlight claw.  Shade claw with Black and use Gold Brush-On Glitter if desired.  Brush Mask-It on nails and Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.  Peel off Mask-It.

DH-1648 - Large Dragon with Castle  Materials Needed;  Greenware, Various Brushes, P-400 Solvent, Mystic Blue Brush-On Glitter, Rhinestones. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH-08 Black, DH-19 Light Gray, DH-43 Teal, DH-40 Turquoise, DH-29 White, DH-15 Mystic Purple, DH-12 Leather Brown, DH-22 Christmas Red, DH-03 True Orange, DH-10 Mustard, DH-01 Daffodil, DH-27 Midnight Blue, DH-21 Sand, DH-37 Cream, FT-03 Green Mist Fingertip, FT-02 Gold Fingertip, SP-02 Mask-It, SP-08 Matte Spray Sealer.

  • Step 1:  Basecoat entire piece, except Gold Black.
  • Step 2:  Wet-brush rocks, brick and stone sections of castle with Light Gray.
  • Step 3:  Wet-brush dragon with Teal.  With color still in your brush, add increasing amounts of Turquoise to brush and wet-brush the dragon's body, wings and face.  Make the areas near the Gold belly, tops of wings, toes, knees and face the lightest color.  Add a little White to your brush and highlight these areas again.  With same brush, add Mystic Purple and wet-brush wing ends, ankles, near end of tail, along ridges on back and lightly between wing bones.  Make the ends of wings lightest by adding a little White to the Mystic Purple.  Wet-brush Mystic Purple on the fur, fins and around mouth and eyes on dragon's face; highlight by adding a little White to same brush.
  • Step 4:  Paint tongue Leather Brown, then Christmas Red, highlighted with True Orange.  Paint eyes Mustard, then Daffodil.  Paint teeth Black.
  • Step 5:  Shade rocks with washes of Mystic Purple, Teal and Midnight Blue.  Wet-brush lightly with Cream to blend colors.
  • Step 6:  Apply a wash of Sand on Castle.  Try not to let it seep into brick cracks.  Lightly highlight around windows, doors and corners with Cream.
  • Step 7:  Shade the dragon with a Midnight Blue wash.  Use photo or sample as guide.
  • Step 8:  Shade piece with a corner-loaded Black wash.  Use a liner where necessary, around fins, gills on face, along edges of Gold belly around Gold toes, etc.
  • Step 9:  Apply Mask-It to Gold areas.  Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.  Remove Mask-It.
  • Step 10:  Apply Green Mist Fingertip to ridges on back with your finger.  Moisten a brush with P-400 solvent and use to apply the metallic in small areas.  apply the metallic so it looks solid.
  • Step 11:  Using a brush moistened with P-400 solvent, apply Gold Fingertip to doors, teeth and smooth upper areas of castle.
  • Step 12:  Apply Mystic Blue Brush-On Glitter to tops of wings, on body and face to highlight.
  • Step 13:  Glue Rhinestones in eyes.

DH-1366 - Demon Smoker  Materials Needed:  Greenware, Various Brushes. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH-08 Black, DH-22 Christmas Red, DH-03 True Orange, DH-10 Mustard, DH-15 Mystic Purple, DH-27 Midnight Blue, FT-02 Fingertip Gold, DH-31 Leaf Green, DH-19 Light Gray, DH-37 Cream, SP-08 Matte Spray Sealer.

  • Step 1:  Clean greenware and fire to Cone 05.  Basecoat entire piece Black.
  • Step 2:  Wet-brush all of body Christmas Red.  Add True Orange to your brush and wet-brush highlights on body.  Add Mustard to same brush and wet-brush more highlights to body, especially to furry parts.
  • Step 3:  Wet-brush Mystic Purple to head and back areas, staff and smooth areas of base.  Lighten Mystic Purple with a little White and wet-brush highlights to purple areas.
  • Step 4:  Shade recessed parts of body and purple areas with a Midnight Blue wash.  Shade darkest areas with a Black wash. 
  • Step 5:  Rub on Fingertip Gold to parts of staff, armbands, coins and horns.
  • Step 6:  Paint teeth Leaf Green.
  • Step 7:  Wet-brush rocks Light Gray.  Randomly dab washes of Midnight Blue, Mystic Purple and Christmas Red on rocks.  Wet-brush rocks with Cream.  Shade upper and lower edges of rocks with a Black wash.
  • Step 8:  Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

DH-1365 - Sheik Smoker  Materials Needed:  Greenware, Various Brushes, Rhinestones. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH-17 Flesh, DH-37 Cream, AT-04 Red Brown Translucent, DH-08 Black, DH-19 Light Gray, DH-43 Teal, DH-22 Christmas Red, DH-03 True Orange, DH-29 White, DH-49 Premier Gold, DH-09 Real Brown,  SP-08 Matte Spray Sealer.

  • Step 1:  Clean greenware.  Fire to Cone 05.  Basecoat the skin areas with Flesh.  Basecoat the shirt Cream.
  • Step 2:  Antique the above areas with Red Brown Translucent.  Wipe off excess color with a soft cloth.
  • Step 3:  Basecoat all remaining areas Black.  Wet-brush the rocks on the base with Light Gray.  Randomly dab washes of Teal & Christmas Red on the rocks.  Wet-brush rocks lightly with Cream.  Shade upper and lower edges of rocks with a Black wash.
  • Step 4:  Wet-brush the shirt and feathers with Cream.  Wet-brush the turban, pants, belt and ends of chair with Christmas Red.  Add True Orange to your brush and wet-brush highlights on al the red areas.  Add a small amount of White to your brush and add more highlights to above areas.  Wet-brush vest with Teal; lighten with a little White and wet-brush highlights on edges and folds.
  • Step 5:  Paint he inside flap of vest, jewelry, pipe and chair Premier Gold.  Shade dark areas with a Black wash.  Paint eyebrows with Real Brown.  Paint lips with a thin Christmas Red wash.
  • Step 6:  Glue Rhinestones on jewelry as desired.
  • Step 7:  Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

DH-1873 - Standing Unicorn  Materials Needed:  Liquid Gold, glue gun, brush on glitter, CG300-Clear Glaze,Matte Spray Sealer, ribbon, small flowers, SP02 - Mask-It. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH-29 White, DH-08 Black, DH-13 Petal Pink, DH-06 Lavender, DH-19 Light Gray, DH27-Midnight Blue

  • Step 1:  Clean greenware and fire to cone 03.
  • Step 2:  Apply Clear Glaze to the horn with 2 coats.  Fire to cone 05.
  • Step 3:  Apply one good coat of liquid fired gold on clear glaze area (horn).  Fire to cone 018.
  • Step 4:  Basecoat unicorn with Light Gray.  Wet-brush unicorn with White and shade mane and tail with washes of Petal Pink and Lavender.  Paint iris' with Midnight Blue and pupils Black.  Paint brush on glitter on areas where washes have been placed.
  • Step 5:  Cover gold area with Mask-It and spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
  • Step 6:  Use hot glue gun and place flowers and ribbon on mane.

DH-1880 - Wizard Hand  Materials Needed:  Pearl Finish, CG300 Clear Glaze, Liquid Gold, AT05-Soft Brown, Matte Spray Sealer, SP02 - Mask-It. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH34 - Soft Brown, DH40 - Turquoise, DH27 - Midnight Blue

  • Step 1:  Clean greenware and fire to cone 03.
  • Step 2:  Apply Clear Glaze to fingernails and ring with two good coats.  Fire to cone 05.
  • Step 3:  Apply one good coat of Liquid Gold to glazed areas and fire to cone 018.
  • Step 4:  Basecoat hand with Soft Brown and antique with Soft Brown Antiquing and wipe off with a soft cloth.
  • Step 5:  Wetbrush sleeve with Turquoise and corner load Midnight Blue and use a float wash at shaded areas.
  • Step 6:  Sponge on White Pearl Finish on sleeve.
  • Step 7:   Apply Mask-It on gold areas and spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

DH-1889 - Cobra Smoker  Materials Needed:  CG300 Clear Glaze, Liquid Gold, AT01-Black, SP02 - Mask-It, Matte Spray Sealer. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH08-Black, DH42-Dark Gray, DH19-Light Gray, DH30-Country Blue, DH10-Mustard, DH25-Toast, DH12-Leather Brown, DH37-Cream, DH44-Blue Suede, DH16-Flaxon Yellow

  • Step 1:  Clean greenware and fire to cone 03.
  • Step 2:  Glaze center of cobra with two coats of Clear Glaze.  Fire to cone 06.
  • Step 3:  Put one coat of liquid gold to glazed area and fire to cone 018.
  • Step 4:  Basecoat cobra Dark Gray and antique with Black Antiquing.  Wipe off with a soft cloth.  Wetbrush Dark Gray on cobra and highlight with Light Gray.  Shade edge of cobra with corner load wash of Leather Brown.  Then shade same areas with corner load brush with Black.
  • Step 5:  Wetbrush inside of belly with Flaxon Yellow and highlight with Cream.  Paint washes of Toast and Blue Suede.  Shade with Toast.
  • Step 6:  Wet-brush rock Dark Grey and paint washes of Toast, Country Blue and Mustard.  Highlight with Cream.  Shade with Black
  • Step 7:  Paint eyes of cobra Mustard with a wash of Toast for pupils.
  • Step 8:  Apply Mask-It to gold areas and spray with Matte Spray Sealer.

DH-1193 - Sorceress  Materials Needed:  greenware, cleaning tools, various brushes, SP08-Matte Spray Sealer, Tan and Rust chalk, AT05-Soft Brown Antiquing Translucent, rhinestones, crystal ball. Doc Holliday Colors:  DH08-Black, DH27-Midnight Blue, DH22-Christmas Red, DH03-True Orange, DH37-Cream, DH19-Light Gray, DH09-Real Brown, DH18-Medium Brown, DH34-Soft Brown, DH48-Gold

  • Step 1:  Clean greenware, fire to cone 05.
  • Step 2:  Basecoat all skin areas with Soft Brown.  Antique with Soft Brown translucent stain.  Blush skin with rust colored chalk.  Paint lips Christmas Red.  Paint her eyes with Medium Brown iris', Black pupils and lashes.  Paint eyebrows Real Brown.
  • Step 3:  Basecoat remaining areas Black.  Wetbrush dress with Midnight Blue, lightened with White.  Shade dress with a wash of Midnight Blue.
  • Step 4:  Wetbrush the rock with Light Gray.  Tint and shade it with washes of Midnight Blue and True Orange.  Lightly wetbrush rocks with Cream.
  • Step 5:  Paint belt True Orange; shade it with a Christmas Red wash.
  • Step 6:  Paint trim on dress and shoes, necklace, earrings with Gold.
  • Step 7:  Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
