DH-1958 - SANDY POINT LIGHTHOUSE
MATERIALS NEEDED: Greenware, Various Brushes, SP-08 Matte Spray Sealer. DOC HOLLIDAY COLORS: DH-08 Black, DH-29 White,
DH-12 Leather Brown, DH-24 Terra Cotta, DH-22 Christmas Red, DH-37 Cream, DH-27 Midnight Blue, DH-18 Medium Brown.
- Step 1:
Clean greenware and Fire to cone 03. Basecoat base and all of lighthouse except top section of bricks with Black. (Refer to Photo)
- Step 2:
Wet-brush bottom section of lighthouse with Leather Brown and then Terra Cotta. Wet-brush bricks with Christmas Red. Basecoat top section of bricks with Cream. Paint bricks around top
section of windows Christmas Red. Paint railing, top of lighthouse and inside all windows Black.
- Step 3:
Wet-brush water of base Midnight Blue. add increasing amounts of White to same brush and highlight water. Shade lighthouse and base with Black. Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
DH-1960 - ASSATEAQUE LIGHTHOUSE MATERIALS NEEDED:
Greenware, Various Brushes, Matte Spray Sealer. DOC HOLLIDAY COLORS:
DH-08 Black, DH-29 White, DH-22 Christmas Red, DH-42 Dark Gray, DH-27 Midnight Blue, DH-09 Real Brown, DH-18 Medium Brown, DH-19 Light Gray, DH-37 Cream.
- Step 1:
Clean greenware and Fire to Cone 03. Paint Christmas Red and White strips around lighthouse and paint bricks on small shed Christmas Red also. Paint roofs, windows, doors and rail around
lighthouse with Black. Wet-brush roofs Dark Gray.
- Step 2:
Basecoat entire base Black. Wet-brush sandy area Real Brown and then Medium Brown. Add Cream to same brush and highlight.
- Step 3:
Wet-brush water Midnight Blue. Add increasing amounts of White to same brush and highlight water. Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
DH-1959 - OCRACOKE LIGHTHOUSE (NORTH CAROLINA)
MATERIALS NEEDED: Greenware, Various Brushes, SP-08 Matte Spray Sealer. DOC HOLLIDAY COLORS: DH-08 Black, DH-29 White,
DH-27 Midnight Blue, DH-09 Real Brown, DH-18 Medium Brown, DH-19 Light Gray, DH-25 Toast, DH-30 Country Blue, DH-38 Grass Green, DH-10 Mustard, DH-37 Cream.
- Step 1:
Clean greenware and Fire to Cone 03. Basecoat lighthouse and small shed White. Paint all windows, doors, roofs and rail around top of lighthouse with Black.
- Step 2:
Basecoat entire base Black. Wet-brush all of base except water Real Brown. Wet-brush Medium Brown on sandy area and then add Cream to same brush and highlight. Wet-brush walkway Medium
Brown also.
- Step 3:
Wet-brush grass with Grass Green. Add Toast to same brush and highlight grass. Very lightly apply Mustard to Grass. Wet-brush rocks Light Gray. Apply washes of Toast and Country
Blue to rocks and then highlight edges of rocks with Cream.
- Step 4:
Wet-brush water Midnight Blue. Add increasing amounts of White to same brush and highlight water. Shade entire base with Black. Spray with Matte Spray Sealer.
