DH2271 - PIXIE WITH MUSHROOMS MATERIALS NEEDED:  DH08-Black, DH34-Soft Brown, DH11-Beige, DH12-Leather Brown, DH25-Toast, DH03-True Orange, DH01-Daffodil, DH10-Mustard, DH02-Butter Cream, DH45-Shadow Green, DH31-Leaf Green, DH38-Grass Green, DH09-Real Brown, DH52-Cranberry, DH14-Rose, DH24-Terra Cotta, AT05-Soft Brown Antiquing, AT02-Black Brown Antiquing, AT01-Black Antiquing, SP08-Matte Spray, chalk for blushing skin, solvent, brushes (B6-1/2" shader, B1-#10/0 liner, B3-#3 detail brush, B2-#1 detail brush

  • STEP 1:  Basecoat pixie's skin Soft Brown.  Basecoat mushroom tops and stem Beige.  Basecoat undersides and ridged sections of mushrooms and acorns Leather Brown.
  • STEP 2:  Antique pixie's skin with Soft Brown translucent.  Antique mushroom tops and stems with Black Brown translucent.  Antique undersides and ridged sections of mushrooms and acorns with Black.
  • STEP 3:  Basecoat pixie's hair Toast.  Basecoat leaf clothing with Leaf Green.  Basecoat all remaining areas Butter Cream.
  • STEP 4:  Apply a wash of Leaf Green on upper wings.
  • STEP 5:  Wetbrush leaf clothes with Leaf Green, lightened with Daffodil and lighten outer edges of leaves, neck band of dress and edges of upper wings.  Shade crevices of these areas with a wash of Shadow Green.
  • STEP 6:  Tint flowers and lower wings with a wash of True Orange.  Lighten edges with a wash of Daffodil.  Shade between wing sections, inside flowers, and upper part of each flower with a wash of Cranberry.  Paint very thin lines of Cranberry down flowers from under stems.  Paint patterns on wings with Daffodil, True Orange, Cranberry, and Shadow Green.
  • STEP 7:  Tint veined leaves with a wash of Mustard.  Shade near veins and outer edges with a Terra Cotta wash.  Paint veins with Butter Cream.
  • STEP 8:  Highlight lower sections of acorns with Terra Cotta.  Highlight tops with Toast.  Shade mushrooms with a wash of Real Brown.  Paint spots on stems with washes of Toast and Real Brown.
  • STEP 9:  Apply a wash of Grass Green over all remaining leaves.  Using washes of Grass Green, Toast (very sparingly), Shadow Green, Daffodil, and Butter Cream, shade, highlight and define the leaves.  The flower tops and stems are shaded with a Shadow Green wash only.  Using a liner, paint the flat sides of leaves Grass Green.  Shade the leaves so they are all separate and distinct.
  • STEP 10:  Paint lips with Rose; tint with a wash of Cranberry.  Paint eyes with Leaf Green iris, outlined with Shadow Green, Black pupils and lashes.  Eyebrows are Real Brown.  Wetbrush hair with Toast; add Mustard to same brush and highlight hair.  Shade around face and deepest waves with a wash of Real Brown.
  • STEP 11:  Blush skin with Chalk.
  • STEP 12:  Spray piece with Matte Spray Sealer.

DH2273 - LARGE GARDEN PIXIE MATERIALS NEEDED:  Greenware, ultra fine glitter, airbrush, soft cloth, SP08-Matte Spray, SP05-Doc's Glue, various brushes, DH34-Soft Brown, DH02-Butter Cream, DH06-Lavender, DH15-Mystic Purple, DH30-Country Blue, DH14-Rose, DH09-Real Brown, DH12-Leather Brown, DH19-Light Gray, DH18-Medium Brown, DH29-White, DH08-Black, DH38-Grass Green, DH10-Mustard, DH25-Toast, DH28-Rust, DH37-Cream, DH22-Christmas Red, AT05-Soft Brown.

  • STEP 1:  Clean greenware and fire to cone 03.  Basecoat flesh with Soft Brown and hair Butter Cream.  Antique with Soft Brown Translucent and wipe back with a soft cloth.  Apply a wash of toast to hair and highlight with Butter Cream.
  • STEP 2:  Basecoat dress and wings Lavender.  Basecoat base of piece with Black.
  • STEP 3:  To airbrush, mix colors in jar using ½ stain to ½ water.  Airbrush wings first, using lightly with Country Blue.  Carefully avoid skin and airbrush wings and dress lightly with White.  Shade around edges of wings and folds of dress using Mystic Purple.
  • STEP 4:  Wetbrush log Real Brown and then Leather Brown.  Highlight edges of log with Soft Brown.  Wetbrush rocks Light Gray and add washes of Mystic Purple and Country Blue.  Highlight rocks with Cream.
  • STEP 5:  Wetbrush leaves Rust and add Mustard to same brush and highlight edges of leaves.  Paint stems of leaves Medium Brown.  Wetbrush grass area Grass Green.  Add Mustard to same brush and wetbrush again.  Shade entire base area with a Black wash to define detail.  Paint lady bug Christmas Red with Black spots.
  • STEP 6:  Paint lips Rose and eyes Medium Brown with Black pupils.  Add White dots to highlight pupils.  Paint eyebrows Toast.
  • STEP 7:  Spray piece with Matte Spray.  Apply Doc's Glue to circles on wings and band across front of dress and sprinkle on glitter.

DH2272 - PIXIE WITH SNAIL MATERIALS NEEDED:  Mother of Pearl, SP02-Mask-It, SP08-Matte Spray, AT05-Soft Brown Translucent, CG300-Clear Glaze, Designer Glazes: DG210-Auqa Blue, DG201-Rose, DG202-Burgundy, DG218-Black, DG204-Orange, DG216-White, Stains:  DH34-Soft Brown, DH25-Toast, DH12-Leather Brown, DH39-Bright Blue, DH37-Cream, DH40-Turquoise, DH27-Midnight Blue, DH26-Lexington Green, DH01-Daffodil, DH52-Cranberry, DH03-True Orange, DH08-Black

  • STEP 1:  Clean greenware and fire to cone 03.
  • STEP 2: Basecoat two coats of Aqua Blue to dress.  Basecoat two coats of Rose mixed with White on shell and belly of snail.  Shade shell and belly with Burgundy.  Basecoat snail with White.  Basecoat butterfly with Orange and make designs on wings with Black.  Fire to cone 06.
  • STEP 3:  Apply one coat of mother-of-pearl on pixie's dress and snail's shell and fire to cone 018.
  • STEP 4:  Basecoat pixie's skin Soft Brown antique with Soft Brown translucent.  Wipe off with a soft cloth.  Basecoat hair Toast with a wash of Leather Brown.  Paint wash of Leather Brown on lips and iris' Bright Blue.
  • STEP 5:  Basecoat wings on fairy Cream and shade with Turquoise and Midnight Blue.  Make design on wings.
  • STEP 6:  Basecoat rest of piece Black.  Wetbrush grass Lexington Green and highlight with Daffodil.
  • STEP 7:  Wetbrush leaves with Cranberry and highlight with True Orange.  Add Daffodil to highlight further.  Shade with Black.
  • STEP 8:  Cover glazed areas with Mask-It and spray with Matte Spray.

DH2265 - SITTING PIXIE, DH2266 - SHELF PIXIE, DH2267 - LYING  DOWN PIXIE MATERIALS NEEDED:  Ultra fine glitter, SP08-Matte Spray, SP05-Doc's Glue, chalk, AT05-Soft Brown Translucent, DH29-White, DH08-Black, DH34-Soft Brown, DH16-Flaxon Yellow, DH37-Cream, DH13-Petal Pink, DH41-Willow Green, DH40-Turquoise, DH27-Midnight Blue, DH31-Leaf Green, DH12-Leather Brown

  • STEP 1:  Basecoat all skin with Soft Brown - antique with Soft Brown translucent.
  • STEP 2:  Wetbrush hair with Flaxon Yellow, highlight with Cream.
  • STEP 3:  Paint dresses with Petal Pink, Turquoise, Willow Green, highlight with Cream.
  • STEP 4:  Paint all wings with Cream.  Shade with Turquoise and Midnight Blue.  Paint design on wings.
  • STEP 5:  Paint iris' with Leaf Green and wash of Leather Brown on lips.  Chalk cheeks with russet chalk.
  • STEP 6:  Spray with Matte Spray.
  • STEP 7:  Apply glitter on wings and on dress using Doc's Glue.

BLUE SIDE

  • STEP 1:  Basecoat all skin Soft Brown and antique with Soft Brown Translucent. Wipe off with a soft cloth.
  • STEP 2:  Basecoat all bases White and antique with Premier God watered down and wipe off with solvent.
  • STEP 3:  Basecoat king and queen's hair Deep Beige and highlight with Soft Brown.  Basecoat robes with Turquoise and highlight with Cream.  Basecoat inner gown Midnight Blue and highlight with Turquoise.  Basecoat trim in Petal Pink.  Paint lips with wash of Leather Brown.  Paint iris' Bright Blue.
  • STEP 4:  Basecoat wizard's beard Dark Gray and highlight with Light Gray.  Paint gown Midnight Blue, highlight with Turquoise.  Paint staff with Soft Brown and shade with Medium Brown.  Paint face same as king and queen's).
  • STEP 5:  Basecoat dragons Dark Gray and wetbrush Turquoise and highlight with Petal Pink and shade with Midnight Blue.
  • STEP 6:  Basecoat swords and stone Cream.  Antique with Premier Gold.  Wipe off with Solvent.  Basecoat shield Turquoise and shade with Midnight Blue.
  • STEP 7:  Paint pawns Cream and shade with Premier Gold.  Basecoat robes Turquoise and shade with Midnight Blue.

RED SIDE  (paint same as blue side except:)

  • STEP 1:  Paint all hair and beards Black.
  • STEP 2:  Paint robes, shields and dragon with Cranberry and highlight True Red.  Paint inner gown Mystic Purple and trim with Teal.  Paint on Gloss-It to all pieces.
  • SIDES:
  • STEP 1:  Basecoat all sides Black.  Wetbrush bricks with Fog and highlight with Bone.  Apply washes of True Orange, Country Blue and Leather Brown on brick.  Highlight with Cream.  Wetbrush stone Leather Brown.  Apply washes of Country Blue and True Orange.
  • STEP 2:  Wetbrush door Leather Brown, highlight with Toast.
  • STEP 3:  Wetbrush straw with Leather Brown, Toast and highlight with Daffodil.
  • STEP 4:  Paint windows Daffodil and shade with True Orange.
  • STEP 5:  Shade with Black.
  • STEP 6:  Spray with Matte Spray.
  • STEP 7:  Paint on Fingertip Gold to tip of tops.
